European and National Ranking Rules
Ranking are based on races results obtained on official National and International races valid for the ranking.
Races must be in the windsurferclass.com calendar and must be organized according the IWCA Europe guidelines.
Each Country can define as valid for the ranking:
– A maximum of 7 national races
– the National Championships
European and World Championships will be valid for all the Countries.
Points are assigned based on Category Results
– National races: Light, Heavy and Women
– National Championships, Europeans and Worlds: Light, Medium Light, Medium Heavy, Heavy, Women
Categories are determined using the “floating system” as per IWCA Europe guidelines.
Ranking Scoring Tables
Final result in an event, will assign the following points (regardless the number of entries):

Ranking Score:
There will be two separate ranking for men and women.
Ranking Net Score for a sailor will be the sum of his/her (max) best 4 scores.
Junior ranking will be extrapolated from the male and female ranking
Tie-Breaking Procedure:
In case of a tie (same Ranking Net Score), the following criteria shall be applied, in order:
– The sailor achieving the same score with fewer races shall prevail.
– If the tie remains, the sailor with the better discard(s), evaluated in order of first and subsequent discards, shall prevail.
– If the tie remains, the sailor with the best individual race results (highest race points), evaluated in order of best to following results, shall prevail.
– If the tie remains, the sailor with the best result in the most recent race shall prevail.
– If the tie still remains, the result of the previous race shall be considered, and so on, until the tie is broken.
– If a tie still exists, the younger sailor shall prevail.
National Ranking Rules
National Rankings for each Country are based on ranking races held in the Country, plus European and Worlds results.
A National Ranking will include:
– All sailors attending at least 1 race in the Country (no matter the nationality).
– Sailors of the nation participating in European or World Championships
Races valid for the ranking are the same defined for the European Ranking:
– A maximum of 7 national races
– the National Championships
– European and World Championships
Age Groups
The categories are defined based on the year of birth, ensuring that each sailor remains in the same division for the entire season and simplifying the calculation of seasonal rankings. All national classes are strongly encouraged to adopt the same criteria for consistency across events.
The age groups are based on the sailor’s age as of December 31 of the reference year.
